There's something I must tell you
Something I must say
Your stupid jealousy is getting in my way
I'm feeling hemmed in with every move I make
You want to own me and this I cannot take
Don't tell me I don't love you
You can hardly know
Sometimes it's not so easy
For my love to show
Your love is so obsessive
You're getting too possessive
For me
You make up conversations
Stories in your head
You're reading crazy things into everything I've
said
Your imagination will bring us to the ground
If you don't expect things of me I can't let
you down
Don't ask me where I'm going
'cos you don't need to know
I've been waiting for far too long
For your trust in me to grow
You have great expectations
There's too many complications
For me
Love isn't something
You can measure on a scale
All attempts to pin it down
Are surely doomed to fail
Love given freely has beauty all alone
Someone else's love is impossible to own
You say "I love you" like it's piled upon a stack
Giving isn't giving if you're expecting something
back
I'm happy loving you
I know this much is true
Can you give your loving out for free
And simply be happy in loving me.
